INTRODUCTION T0 SANDBLASTING

BLASTLINE Sandblasting/Shot-peening machines feature very special design and performance characteristics.

A BLASTLINE sandblasting/shot-peening machine is a compressed-air unit designed to produce a jet of granular material through the energy created by a compressed air system. A special manual or mechanical gun creates a high efficiency jet to provide a high-quality treatment of the components

A wide range of granular material can be used according to customers' requirements, including the following :

  • Quartz sand
  • Corundum
  • Glass or ceramic beads
  • Plastic grains
  • Metal shots

The granulated material blown through a Blastline jet will be hereinafter referred to as “abrasvie”
The type of abrasive to be used depends on the surface treatment to be performed. The most common treatments are:

  • deoxidation
  • paint removing
  • cleaning of metal and non-metal surfaces
  • butter finish
  • roughening to allow anchorage and subsequent layers of material
  • hardening
  • normalizing of inside tensions
  • coverage of marks and defects .
  • special finish

Compressed-air sandblasting/shot-peening machines can be delivered in two different models:

  1. “vacuum cabinets”
  2. “pressure cabinets”
