CICLONE YES - CICLONE NO

As you can see in the section dedicated to BLASTLINE sandblasting/shot-peening machine configurations, our machines can be delivered without cyclone. It must be observed that a machine without cyclone costs less than a similar machine complete with cyclone. In this case, the process cycle changes as shown in the following pictures illustrating a vacuum machine and a pressure machine, respectively.

Looking at these pictures, you will see that the sandblasting machine does not include a system for recuperating the abrasive+dust mixtures from the bottom of the hopper.

Dust generated by the sandblasting process is collected from the working area, to the purpose of ensuring proper visibility to the inside. Most of the dust mixed with abrasive grains will fall into the hopper and will be reused in the subsequent sandblasting cycle..

As a matter of fact, some problems peculiar to machines without cyclone shall not be disregarded. We explain you why:

At the end of the process, the abrasive will mix with the residual dust. Due to this fact, the composition of the sandblasting jet will change while the process goes on. When quality and constant results are required, this volatility can be a serious inconvenince, in some other cases it does not make any difference, for exemple in the case the treatment to be performed is a mere metal surface deoxidation.
In the cabinet, the visibility is not so good, because of a higher quantity of residual dust..
The quantity of dust+abrasive delivered to the filter is bigger, because the aspirator is not easy to tune for the job.

On the other hand, sandblasting without cyclone results in some unquestionable advantages. We basically refer to:

The capacity of aspirator is not fundamental to this application, because there is no need for the aspirator to take the abrasive from the bottom of the hopper to the cyclone.

Heavy abrasive materials (metallic) can be be used without increasing the suction.
Sandblasting machines without cyclone cost much less than similar machines complete with cyclone.
