Ultrasonic wash system. |

Ultrasonic wash is a very common method, often necessary, that uses high frequency sound waves, not audible by the human ear, to increase the washing efficiency. The ultrasonic systems exercise a quick and efficient cleaning action on any material and/or device plunged into an adequate detergent solution. The cleaning action is performed without any risk either of damage to fragile components or change in the characteristics of the piece to be treated. The ultrasonic wash gains two goals: physical, by the high energy mechanical vibrations introduced in the solution; chemical, by dissolving the soluble dirt and dispersing the insoluble contamination through the detergent solution. This wash technique removes all foreign material thoroughly either from exposed surfaces and/or from difficult areas that cannot be cleaned by standard cleaning instruments. It is also possible to wash parts of apparatus, computers, roll bearings, precious metals, optical lenses, surgery or dentist instruments and items made from plastic, ceramic fibres and glass. |

Operating principles The ultrasonic system are composed of two main parts: a power generator and a piezoelectric transducer installed under the tank. The electric energy is converted by the transducer into mechanical energy as high frequency vibrations. Vibrations spread through the wash solution: “Cavitation” is the result of this process, i.e. high pressure zones and zones near to the “vacuum” pressure where microscopic bubbles are subjected to a vibrating stress in the range of 100 kg/m 2 ). The energy released by the microscopic bubbles on the component to be washed is much higher than other existing mechanical wash technique. The mechanical action combined with the chemical action of the wash solution provides unequalled wash result on any kind of component, even the most delicate one. Frequencies are in the range of 20 to 50 kHz, the mechanical vibration stroke is proportional to the frequency. The more fragile is the piece , the higher is the pressure. Description The ultrasonic tanks are installed into a compact heavy-duty housing, light and highly resistant to wear. The generator uses a solid state electronic circuit, with the more up to ate technology of switching feeder. The transducer consists of PTZ (Lead - Zirconium - Titanium) elements that convert high frequency electrical energy into mechanical vibrations by piezoelectric action.
The transducer consists of electrostrictive elements made of lead zirconate-titanate.This material suitably shaped offers piezoelectric properties, i.e. changes in dimension if subjected to an electric field. The conversion coefficient is really high. Each single transducer consists of a sandwich of two PZT rings pressed between two metal cylinders with the function of mechanical amplifier for the vibration amplitude.By means of the sandwich transducer it is possible to obtain a resonant frequency (25 khz or 40 khz) much below the ceramic ring frequency. Metallic masses provide an efficient cooling action on the ceramic components. Values and limits The wash action is evenly distributed through each zone in the cavitating solution. The weight of the piece to be washed is negligible because the piece instead of standing on the bottom, is suspended in the bath. Each type of dirt that slightly sticks to the surfaces to be cleaned can be removed easily with an adequate detergent. The wash efficiency depends on the ultra-sounds power, the bath temperature and the type of detergent Each wash tanks from the VLU series features the following characteristics: Electronic timer from 0' to 20' Ultrasound indicator LED Safety fuse with cover Discharge cock, ¼” Heating system with control thermostat Ultrasound power electronic variator The following items are available upon request: Glass container with support ring Baskets Steel lid panel Our Wash Tanks features the following characteristics: Electric current 220 V 50-60 Hz Standard equipment forming part of each model: Ultrasound timer in the range of 0 to 20 minutes Heating system with thermostat: 0 to 70°C Ultrasound power variator Discharge cock ¼” G |
